Where: Online
When: Wednesday 27 April 2022 Due to COVID-19 the annual STER Conference was postponed, but an online launch of volume 3 of the STER e-Journal was held. The review team pivoted from face-to-face work, to online meetings in March 2020. In her Foreword to the journal, Dr Julie Ui Choistalbha said "amidst the storm that is COVID-19, the STER e-journal is like a beacon guiding us toward the safety of shore and reminding us that solid ground lies ahead". It was a privilege to work closely with students who bring such wonderful energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to contribute to the education community.

Where: Mary Immaculate College, Limerick
When: Tuesday 2nd April 2019 The second STER conference was a cross-campus, interdisciplinary event involving almost 50 student teachers and education graduates from across a wide variety of programmes. The conference was attended by students and staff from both the MIC Limerick and MIC Thurles campuses. The themes of the conference included social inclusion, leadership, well-being and work-based learning and their relevance to experiential practice of teaching is clearly evidenced. Opening the Conference, Prof Hourigan said “Each generation has new concerns, original insights and innovative research methods which they bring to their research. The publication and dissemination of the STER online journal not only raises the profile of student teacher research at national level but critically disseminates the findings of that research."

Reflection on Conference 2018Where: Mary Immaculate College, Limerick
When: Tuesday 3 April 2018 The inaugural STER conference and journal were established by Dr Aimie Brennan to give student-teachers a platform to share their research in a collegial and supportive environment. This year, PME students in MIC were invited to participate. In keeping with the student-centred ethos of STER, articles were reviewed by a student peer review panel in a double-blind process, and a student organising committee was formed to assist with the running of the conference. The committee would like to thank the Institute for Educational and Social Policy Studies (PRISEM), who provided funding for the printing of student research posters.
