about ster

Student Teacher Educational Research (STER) is an Irish Higher Education partnership project that supports education students to share their dissertation research with the wider education community. STER provides students with a unique opportunity to publish their research with the support and guidance of the STER team. Our aim is to promote a culture of research in initial teacher education by encouraging students and graduates to engage in  dialogue and critical reflection about education research. Underpinned by a student-staff partnership ethos, the project is run by a team of student and staff volunteers led by Dr Aimie Brennan.
Participation is open to all final year education students and recent graduates. Students and graduates can share research in any the following ways:
  • Peer-reviewed e-Journal Article
  • Podcast Interview
  • Conference Presentation
  • Poster Presentation

students, SHARE YOUR RESEARCH

STER is a fantastic way to get feedback and to help focus your attention on the significance and impact of your education research. Participation is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students of education programmes. Students can participate if they currently writing a dissertation, or if they have submitted their dissertation within the last 18 months. All research included in STER must be on a topic related to education. Where students have completed empirical research, they must have recieved and complied with ethical approval from their home institution. If you would like more information about sharing your research or volunteering see the contact page for details.
